I too am amazed at his stamina plus that of his wife. The stress on her has to be tough. I am leaning towards Betty's thinking and really wish this whole ordeal were over. I too am simply amazed at Bernie's stamina. We are the same age and that's one reason I cannot fathom how in the world he manages to hold up so well. :-)DJanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07152183871573797791noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2248452688088218010.post-31763879865254528072016-05-11T09:06:05.023-04:002016-05-11T09:06:05.023-04:00Must have been exciting for you to witness this. I, too, am amazed at the stamina of all these septuagenarians on the campaign trail (although, honestly, I think Bernie Sanders is a snake oil salesman.)Tomhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08611148987085476580noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2248452688088218010.post-44536585661886986862016-05-10T23:35:58.161-04:002016-05-10T23:35:58.161-04:00Full disclosure, I'm voting for Hillary, but I...Full disclosure, I'm voting for Hillary, but I like Bernie. I just think his ideas are impossible to achieve. Also, so many of his supporters are young people who probably will not show up at the polls, if history tells us anything. I fear they just like the idea of "free stuff" and they don't want to hearthe truth of the matter. I was reading an article where it showed for example that by law the Japanese campaign length is 12 days, in France it is 2 weeks. One could say that the country is large, but Canada campaign length is only 78 days compared to 596 days in the US. I think that both in Canada and in France voters would not tolerate the amount of money that is spent on campaigns – at least in France they would be in the streets demonstrating against it. Many countries too won’t let the candidates purchase so much TV coverage. Then in the end, only 40 to 50% of eligible US voters, go ahead and vote, which ranks almost at the bottom of the rest of the industrialized world! Maybe if people who don’t vote were fined, like in Australia, they would come out and vote (90% participation in Australia.) For a “free” country I think the US system of voting is a disgrace.Vagabondehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10774109692564954568noreply@blogger.com
